A day full of activity and fun, adapted to suit individual needs.

 All times are approximate and subject to number of clients and volunteers
Flexibility is essential – some clients may need more assistance than others…

10.00 – 10.30   Welcome with tea, coffee, biscuits, chat and newspapers/magazines
Volunteers help serve, wash up and chat with clients
Clients select lunch choice from menu offered by staff

10.30 – 11.30   Selection of ‘Active’ Physical Games (bean bag target, foam football target, skittles, boules, chair yoga)
Volunteers join in and assist clients

11.15 – 12.00   'Brain' Games (Musical Bingo, Cards, Hangman, Quizzes, Make-A-Word)
Volunteers join in and assist clients

11.45 – 12.00   Prepare for lunch at 12:00.
Staff to do toileting unless volunteer is trained
Staff and volunteers help clients to lunch tables

12:00 – 12:30   LUNCH – all clients have hot two-course lunch – main course and dessert
Staff and volunteers serve lunch
Staff and volunteers wash-up, dry and clear/wash tables
Staff and volunteers help clients back to their armchairs
Staff and volunteers put out cups etc. for afternoon tea

12.30 – 12.45   After-lunch sit-down, relax, read newspapers/magazines, chat
Volunteers join in

12:45 – 1.30   General Games (Snakes & Ladders, quizzes, crosswords, Bingo)
Volunteers join in and assist clients

1.30 – 2.00   Tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits and chat
Staff and volunteers make tea, serve and join in with chat, etc.
Staff and volunteers wash-up and clear

2.00 – 3.00   General Games (Snakes and Ladders, quizzes, crosswords, Bingo, etc)
Volunteers join in and assist clients

3.00   Home time
Staff and volunteers help clients meet with their carers and check they are collected safely
Staff and volunteers clear room and put away in cupboard
